Disappointed by the Nokia N70 Camera

I recently got a nokia n70 and being an optical engineer I decided to test it to the fullest using techniques i use at work and well the results actually shocked me. I found that the new phone i recieved was actually worst then my older motorola razr. I wrote it up on my blog and you can see check it out.

The Nokia N70 2MP Myth

Sorry but I disagree, my friend has one and its not much diffrent than any other 2 mp camera phone... and certainly is a thousand times better than Razr's camera.

RAZR = crappiest cell phone ever.

lol did you even look at the blog, i ran it thru industry testing specified by nokia and it came back with worst results for image sharpness.

I didnt just make some random comparision I actually tested it to death and used scientific methods not some hey i think this looks better BS method.

I don't understand why cell phones have cameras. It makes more sense to have a $50 cell phone like the Motorola F3, and spend the other $200 on a small Canon.

best camera phone ive ever used or seen is the Sony Ericsson S710a. it has a 1.3mp cam, and i know other phones have 2mp or even more, but this camera owns something fierce. i have a samsung slim slider with a 1.3mp, and it still doesnt compare, yet, its supposed to be the same..

In reality the MP count camera phone vendors push really dont give an idea of the image quality. I know there is many factors one of the most important is the optics, that can seperate the diference between a good camera and bad one.

People and their MP.

Marketing has really brainwashed the consumers. More MP does not mean better image quality.

Why else would a normal camera take better pics than a camera phone? Also why would professional DSLRs take better pics than your normal point and shoot camera?

The answer isnt MP. Its the sensor size of the optical lens.

I can tell you that the camera on the VX8000 can take better pics than almost all phones out there and its only a 1.3mp.
