Disappearing Mouse

Ok, here is the deal. The mouse pointer on the Gemstar GUIDE PLUS+ for Windows Version 1.0.0.45 disappears when it crosses over the grid containing the listings. It still functions, but it is invisible. Once out of the Guide Plus+ software the mouse appears and functions normally. Running the Catalyst software that came with my graphics card: ATI All-in-Wonder 9600 128MB. I found the following link discussing this problem:

The specs for my new rig are as follows:
Athlon 64 3400+
Asus K8V SE Deluxe
1 GB PC333 RAM
All-In-Wonder 9600 128MG
Running WinXP Pro

Any ideas for getting to mouse to stay?
