disappearing folder in XP!?!

whateverdude

Senior member
been running xp pro for about a week now and encountered the weirdest of alot of weird things that have happened since I installed this.

first off, ive had alot of lockups and minor problems but thats to be expected with a new os so no biggie.

but this takes the cake. I uninstalled a couple of game demos through "add/remove programs" in the control panel like normal. I have a folder on my c: drive where I install all my games right, well, I go to copy pathfinder to my wolfenstein directory in my games folder and guess what? its gone, the whole folder. games that is. I also had MOH installed. all gone, bye bye.

I have never had anything like this happen in any winblows os. who knows, it coulda been one of the demos I suppose, IL2 sturmovik & tiger woods 2002, but I would think xp would prevent them from removing a whole directory! especially with 2 other games installed there. ive been running xp trial vers on another computer for a couple of months and havent had any of the problems ive had with this copy I installed last week and the comp im running the full vers on is newer than the other!

where do I wanna go today? well, for starters, I wanna go to redmond and put my boot between bill gates ass cheeks...

yeah, I thought about that. went to folder options, view and clicked show all files and folders. nothing.

it wasnt hidden before. this is just weird and it pisses me off that I have to go back and reinstall my games and then reconfigure blah blah blah, but I want to find out why it did this in the first place and of course, there was no error so I cant send ms an error report. blah

thanks for the response anyway
