Does anyone know how to disable virtual memory completely in win2k? I recently upgraded and am now running with 1GB of DDR333 so I dont want to use virtual memory and slow things down, I tried just setting win2k to use 0mb of virtual memory but when I reboot it tells me that the virtual memory is set too low and it resizes it automatically (It is set in the options to user defined and 0mb). Any ideas/suggestions?

Thanks,
Matt

First suggestion would be to use the search, this question gets asked here every week.

And the general consensus answer (at least among those whose opinions I respect here) is that there is no good reason to do it, no matter how much RAM you have. Disabling it will not speed up your system by a noticeable amount, and there are some programs that require it.

It is possible if you are still keen on it, but because I am quite happy to leave things as is, I can't tell you. I would again suggest you search if you really want to do it.
