Disabling TV output on Toshiba Satellite laptop with MCE

My wife just called me from Boston to say that she was trying to watch a DVD while flying and somehow decided that it would be a good idea to pick "output -> tv mode" since it was a little choppy and now even she boots the laptop it comes up with a black screen.

I had her look for the F key with the computer monitor on it and hit that plus Fn etc a few times but no dice. I also had her hit some other nearby F keys but also no change.

Hoping someone has some specific advice other than "tell her to boot to safe mode". I assume it could be easily fixed in safe mode by going to video control panel etc.
