Disabling the Superfecth in SSD system

When Win 7 is installed clean on a SSD, that is supposed to be disabled by default. Superfetch is a caching tool to enhance HDD performance - and it does nothing for SSDs. Thus, the Superfetch will not use any of your RAM for its intended purpose.

Superfetch simply ignores SSD drives. Even if it remains enabled, it won't do anything for files on SSD partition.

Best thing go and turn off superfetch in Services ..
My gurus above told you why.
Also if you try to make a readboost usb it wont do it. turn off prefetch , superfetch. Also you save over 200mb by turning off superfetch. Also your drive doesnt thrash when windows 7 first comes up. doing things is slowish if you beging using immediatly after windows chime sound. WIth SSD your windows will boot in avg 20 seconds and it just pops up at you all icons load tray and desktop. 20 seconds and you can begin using immediatly also there is no superfetch to slow things down.

Not if you have regular active HDDs installed as well. Win 7 will ignore SSDs, but still apply it to HDDs if needed. Many users here have a SSD boot drive with a HDD data drive. Trust the OS - don't throw the baby out with the bath water.
