I tried deleting the images on a Secure Digital card while in Windows Explorer (XP). I got the "cannot delete - write protected" message. Any one know how I can wipe this card clean?
Thanks.

What brand is your SD card? All SD cards should have a Lock/Write Proctect switch on the side.

This post has a picture that shows where the switch is located.

If your card doesn't have the switch in that slot any more (they can fall out if properly abused) then you can simply put a small piece of tape over the slot - make sure you don't cover any of the card's electrical contacts - and the camera/reader should register the card as no longer being write protected.

My card is a Kingmax Platinum with no Lock/Write Protect switch. or a slot where a switch may have been located.. I am going to replace the card.

Kingmax prints the labeling on their SD cards so that the capacity of the card is right next to the write protect slot. See this picture for an example (look directly below the 512MB> label): Kingmax SD card

What kinda of reader are you using? I'm using a cheapo and it won't let me delete (but when I plug same card into camera I can write/delete fine).
