I was wondering how I can use the RAID IDE slots w/o using RAID for my HD's. I want to be able to have four separate IDE channels for my dvd, cd-r, and 2 hd's. Which part goes to which IDE?

Don't disable anything in the Bios. The Epox has a highpoint raid chip, the best on-board one from my uses. All you need to do is plug you Boot hard drive in the Primary of the Raid IDE ports and the other hard drive in the other IDE raid port. Then plug your DVD/CD-RW drives in the regular IDE ports.

This is how I always did it and it works great. Makes copying CD's really fast since you can do it on the Fly.

You should boot to the Raid/SCSI listing. All boards list if different but it is usually Raid or SCSI first

try plugging your boot hdd into the primary non raid port, set boot order in bios to boot from hdd0 first, plug other hdd into secondary ide, cdrw into one raid slot, dvd into other raid slot
i ran like this for awhile before i jumped into raid 0,worked fine
