So some manager is busting me for reading the forums during lunch. Apparently someone in the company likes to taddle tale to other managers when they see that people in cubes, the lower tiered people of their earth, are browsing the web.

Is there a way to disable or hide author icons? It would make my browsing a lot... safer.

EDIT: Bah! If its even worth it, this should have gone in Technical.

In your personal options, you used to have the ability to suppress the display of most graphics.

I can not locate the option now - it may have been removed during the upgrades earlier this year.

Lunch time should be your time.

The AT forums is a way of obtaining information that may be beneficial to your work.

Therefore on your lunch break, you are actually benefiting your employer.

That said, our policy is to not allow threads that circumvent network policy/usage guidelines as this thread is clearly attempting to do...

If you have Firefox, get the Adblock extension and block all images on AT

Also, your IT people probably have the ability to check into your browsing history by means beyond your control. If your employer's policy is that you're not supposed to be doing this, then don't do it. It's their computer. It's their network. It's their behinds in the hotseat if you unleash worms inside the perimeter or hit an exploit that sends every file in your home directory to Russia.

And before you say this site wouldn't pose a threat...

trojans reportedly planted at pics.bbzzdd.com, a site you might find linked from here.

That was not as much an issue in terms of trojans attacking other visitors; people were merely trying to use the site to host non-picture files. :) Unless people here regularly click and run *.ZIP or *.EXE files they're unfamiliar with, I suppose. :p

MrLee: I think your best bet is to use the (unofficial) AnandTech Forums for Mobile Devices version of the site. It strips everything but the text. Until we do the next code upgrade on it, however, you won't be able to post.

Edit: You can use your browser's options to make the font size (small because of the focus on mobile devices) bigger/more readable.
