Disabling Onboard Video?

I just got a new Asus A7N266-VM nForce2 motherboard. I can't seem the figure out how to disable the onboard video. The BIOS are Phoenix - AwardBIOS Setup Utility. Does anybody have any idea? I read the manual and it had nothing about diabling it so I could use another card.

It's usually done two ways. Normally, I'd say read the manual (I don't have one of those boards to check myself), but since you already did, you can try the following 🙂

It's either in the BIOS (under "integrated perphierals" maybe) or it'll be a jumper on the board itself.

It's BIOS revision 1.05 if that helps...

It's a weird BIOS... instead of having the choices in a menu type thing, it moreso has tabs at the top with MAIN, ADVANCED, POWER, BOOT, EXIT.

I'm completely clueless here 🙁

Usually if there isn't a jumper, just plug in the AGP card and it'll disable the onboard automatically.

I would think there is an option in the BIOS to disable it, double check the manual...maybe a BIOS flash is needed?

It will automatically disable itself once you put in an AGP video card. My wife is using an A7N266-VM. She used the onboard video for a couple of days, then I decided to put a GF3 ti200 in. Like you, I couldn't find anything in the manual so I just popped the card in, plugged the monitor in and it fired up using the AGP card.
