Disabling On-Board Video Question

OK, so i've got a cheap PC here i need to disable the onboard video somehow. I filtered through the BIOS but i can't find anything that directly relates to disabling the onboard video. I've got another PCI card already installed (another cheap 8mb vid card), but it won't let me use it because the onboard video is still active. If anyone has any ideas how i can go about disabling the onboard video i'd be glad to listen!

PS - The device manager see's both adapters. The only thing is the video card that's actually plugged into the PCI slot has a conflict which reads.. "Your computer's display driver will not work with Multiple Display Support. Contact your hardware vendor for assistance in obtaining a display drivers that will work with Multiple Display Support".

P.S. The manufacturer of this computer is out of business.. Maxtech

Thanks

There might be a jumper on the mobo for disableing the onboard chip. Or You can try to disable or remove the onboard video chip thru device manager, shut down, and move the monitor to the PCI card.

Good luck

read your manual which came with teh machien.. its in there. how to disable the onboard video.
chances are your on board is an AGP card, the new 8mb PCI card isnt going to help much more than what it is.

In the device manager, select the onboard driver and select properties, then put a check mark in the box(if there is one) in the lower left corner that says disable in all hardware profiles click ok, etc., then shut down, and switch the monitor cable to the new card, then boot back up.
