Disabling mp3 playback in Internet Explorer 6

I'm not able to figure out how to disable automatic mp3 playback in Internet Explorer 6. I have a direct link to a friend's mp3 that I'd like to download, but IE will only let me play it in the browser. With FireFox, I know I can go into options and change the file type settings to allow me to download files rather than automatically view them in the browser.

Is there any way to do this with IE 6? I'm not able to find any settings like that, nor am I able to find anything online specifically about this issue.

Sorry I'm not being clear. If I'm only able to paste the link into the IE address bar, though, how am I supposed do that?

Now, can anyone answer my question about IE 6? Can you force it to ask you to download a cut-and-paste link rather than automatically playing it, like you can in FireFox?

You used to be able to enter something like: about:Link in the address bar (which'd give you a link to the file) but I don't think that works anymore.

You could always enter the above into notepad, save it as a .html and open it up in IE.

I usually just open up a console and use wget to grab the file in this kind of situation.
