disabling integrated NIC on laptop

have an
acer travelmate 525 TE and when i boot up it gives me this: "PXE-E61 media test failure, check cable." i already made the hard drive the first boot item and still no luck. HELP!
i've figured out that if i can disable the NIC on the laptop, the problem will stop. Problem is that no where in the bios does it let me delete it!

If there is no option in the bios I don't think you can. I think the only option would be to disable it within windows.

so i would just delete the driver correct?

no there should be an option to disable it rather than uninstall it. If u uninstall it, it will ussually just try to reinstall it every start up if u uninstall. You can just go into My network properties and right click it's connection and hit disable, should do the trick.
