I was wondering if anyone knew a way to disable normal chat on CSS. I already know how to disable voice, but couldn't figure out the console command for normal chat.

i dont think there is one. you could always just mute everyone in the server as this disables their voice and text.

dangerer, i believe there is a checkbox in the settings to enable voice. simply uncheck the checkbox and voice will be disabled. Or you could use the console command "voice_enable 0" (I think thats what it is)

Yea, voice_enable 1 turns off voice. The reason I want to disable normal chat though, is because my 9 year old nephew has been playing CSS for about a year now, and he's getting pretty good. I just thought I'd try to give him a more "rated G" experience if i could.. Right now he just ignores it, as I'm sure it's nothing he doesn't already encounter in school everyday anyway, but I still thought I'd try to be the "good uncle."

curious that dirty words in chat = bad, but headshots with blood and bodies flying back = okay.
