In IE's "Internet options, Security settings" tab, i disabled ActiveX controls and plug-ins because one webpage i was visiting was launching Outlook.

What are ActiveX controls and plug-ins?

prompting option is sooooo annoying since it seems every website i visit uses it.
what happens if i permanently left it disabled?

is there a way to allow activeX on just 1 site w/o going into IE's tools-options to reenable activeX. it's a pain since i have to disable activeX after i leave the site. and i visit the site 2+ times a day.

 
PM replied to. To allow some sites more leeway than others, you can use IE's different "Zones." Narrated screencapture movie by myself, illustrating how you could do that: http://home.comcast.net/~mechbgon/IE7_tuning.wmv The info applies to both IE6 and IE7. If you haven't upgraded to IE7 already, that's recommended for better security, among other things :thumbsup:
