Disabling access in AIM?

Hey all,

I am working on setting up an image for the lab machines at school, and I was wondering if anyone knows how to remove the auto-login and save password options in AIM in addition to anyothers if possible. This is for all the wonderful idiots who would sign on, save their password, and then have someone else come in and sign in with their account. Likewise if anyone knows of an AIM clone or a way to do this in Trillian I would greatly appreciate it.

Also, I am trying to do this for 'free' so freeware is definetely a good thing, although if there is a 'way cool' program I can probably work something out.

Thanks!

Not quite what I really had in mind. I am looking to permanently disable the option one way or another since these will be public computers. IE I am looking for something a bit more difficult for someone to work around than just unchecking the boxes myself.

If your OS is Windows 2k or something like that,

how can they install AIM anyway?

Well this is for a computer image so it would already be pre-installed, since there is a relatively high demand for IM access in the computer labs. We currently reccoment AIMEX but it is just not as full featured.

ICQ actually solves the problem, as you can install it in 'public' mode meaning that info is not logged etc, that is the type of thing I am looking to get out of AIM, since AIM is by far more popular than ICQ

I've looked into those, and trillian does not really have that option, and Gaim....well I the closest thing would be for me to rewrite the source, but I would like to tryt and avoid that 😉
