Disable WMP windows Media Player 11 syncing?

Does any knowledgeable forum member know how to do this? I hate how WMP pops up the sync window whenever I plug in an SD card or flash drive. This is in Vista 32bit Home Premium btw..

No WMP, your a POS and I don't need you sync sh*t for me. Try learning how to CLOSE properly first... God damn Microsoft can't even get their most integral programs from pissing the hell out of it's customers. I swear if I could install OSX on my XPS m2010 I'd kick Microsoft's ass goodbye.

Sounds like an autoplay issue. I'm not sure how it works in Vista, but I guess you could try going into the "My Computer" and setting the flash drive (when it is plugged in) to do nothing when you insert it.

Didn't work... I am on the phone with Microsoft on this issue.. I'm surprised more people haven't complained yet. When I had Vista Business this nonsense simply didnt happen..

Edit: They were absolutely useless and the line got dropped after she had no idea what to do. I think I may have to go back to Vista Business...

I had the same problem---everytime windows media player 11 opened, it demanded and offered to sych with an unspecified something---I finally just downloaded an active sych program and the problem immediately went away and the installed program never linked anything that I know of. . But I agree with the OP---its super damn annoying---and just what we can expect from Microsoft.
