disable Windows XP CDRW function

I want to disable Windows XP from wanting to burn my CD-Rs. I'm still having problems with Nero and my CDRW, and want to eliminate this variable.

Thanks guys.

If using Professional edition, go to Run|gpedit.msc>User Configuration>Administrative Templates>Windows Explorer and double-click Remove CD Burning features then click the Enabled radio button and hit OK. If you can't access gpedit.msc, go to Administrative Tools (under Control Panel, or hidden under performance options in control panel with the new control panel interface) and go to services. Then double-click IMAPI CD-Burning COM Service and hit the 'startup type' dropdown box and select Disabled. Then hit OK.

the services are currently set to manual. I did disable it though using gpedit.msc. There was no burner tab in device manager properties for the burner.

I think I got it. Thanks guys.
