disable windows automatic back-up / restoration

my C partition is getting smaller and smaller monthly. yes, i've allocated my IE cache to a different partition. adobe's sratch disk to a different disk. and all of the other programs' cache to other partition. yet, still, my C drive is always getting smaller.

i've heard that windows XP does some automatic back-up? or restoration? how can i disable them? or what could my problem be with windows XP?

TIA.

System restore is the culprit. You can go disable it (not a good idea) or you can decrease the size allocated to store the restore points. Right clik my comp and select properties, clik the system restore tab. If your system is absolutely stable, to delete the space that has been taken up by the restore points just check the box that says disable system restore. That will clear the space used and I would suggest turning back on systrem restore.

i empty my recycle bin every 10 mins 🙂 i think they have a name for that obsession or something too.

wow, system restore took up 600mb!!!! thanx Bucksnort.
