Disable Incoming Ping Request In Windows 10

I am unable to get the incoming ping request turned off in Windows 10 Home 64 Bit.... I tried all the tricks I could find by Google, yet Shields Up web site still shows all Ports as Stealth, but that my computer is allowing Incoming Ping Requests

Please advise how to get this fixed

Thanks

I do not know. I know on my old Dell 8200 with a hardwired lan connection that it is definitely blocked. On my Toshiba Laptop on the WiFi it is letting the Incoming Ping through. I will check the Verizon DSL Modem / Router to see if it can be blocked there.

You can't just block all ICMP data - I know that much. My router lets me block pings specifically (AC68U, so a forked version of DD-WRT.)

What's responding to the ping? The PC on your network or the router/modem? (when your PC is off, does a ping just time out?)

I think it the Windows 10 laptop. Will have to recheck on the Dell 8200 tomorrow to see if Shields Up says the Ping is blocked on that one (hardwired lan connection) Pretty sure it is as on XP the setting to block it in the firewall was easy to get to and implement.

It might be that D-Link DSL-2750B has No capacity to block Pings,

Quote from this link http://www.techspot.com/community/topics/stop-returning-pings.187511/

"HOWEVER, this device does not have the option to allow/disable ping from the Internet.
While disallowing ping reply is 'nice to have', it is by no means a silver bullet to protect you.
There are other technologies at work such as your Anti-Virus and the Win/7 firewall.

Sleep well ".

BTW Win 10 Firewall by Default blocks Ping.

However if the Computer is configured to get incoming like Remote Control and the use of FTP Server the ICMP rules are changed.

This is for Win 7/8 it might be similar in Win 10.
