Disable Fan Thermal Sensor (diode)

Hello, Would it be possible to disable the thermal sensor in a fan so that it can perform the maximum RPM speed? Would cutting the thermal diode out do the job or cutting the diode and then connecting the two wires do it instead? I would like to here the input from the anandtech members before attempting this and finding out I totally messed up and the fan wont work at all.

P.S I am using the fan to cool my cpu and cant risk messing it up. 🙂
