Disable Control Panel but allow access to printers

I've enabled:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer\NoSetFolders to Disable changes to Printers and Control Panel Settings
Now I need to allow access to the printer folder but not the rest of the control panel. Can this be done? Is there another policy I should be using?

Thanks.

I don't think this is possible with Win98. At least not with the default policies (which can always be overidden because there is no security in Win98). You may want to look for a 3rd party program to do this.

I'm just looking for registry keys to hide the applets. I don't really care much about security of these desktops.

You could just remove all but the required .cpl files. That's how I secured our machines. Not too many users will figure it out.

The problem is that different users need to use the machine and need to have access to different applets. I don't really want to dea with writing scripts that move cpl files around.

Wow, I had actually forgotten that Win98 implemented desktop policy settings. But without the OS-level security to back them up, it does seem rather pointless, doesn't it?

I'm not actually looking for security. I'm just trying to deter the curious user from causing more work.

There's a way, I think using TweakUI, to add/expand the contents of the Control Panel (the applets and shell sub-folders) as links on the start menu. Perhaps you could do that, then delete all of the links not to the Printers folder, and then shut off access to the Control Panel folder altogether. Might work.

I'll give that a shot.

Thanks.
