A mobo shouldn't be doing anything to your video card. What card do you have? XT models of radeons have overdrive, which OC's on the fly. It's stable though, so there's no reason why you should disable it either.

I am using an MSI k8n neo2 and it usally o/c's my video card without me doing anything is it possible to disable this feature, and if so, how?
I thought such auto O/C feature is only supported by ASUS's 915/925 mobos with specific PCI-E cards. I don't think such feature is available with older generation mobo like K8N you have. It may be overdrive as malak said, I think.
