Splash Damage, the developers of Wolfenstein Enemy Territory, Enemy Territory Quake Wars, and Brink, are developing a new Free To Play, multiplayer shooter called Dirty Bomb.

    First video of Alpha Gameplay

As usual with Splash Damage, gameplay looks mission based, rather than simple deathmatch.

Anyway, check it out if you are interested. And if you want to influence the future direction of the game, you can pay to be a "founding member".

    Hopefully it's better than Brink.

Looks like a faster paced BF3 might not be a bad thing.

Looks like Brink without the weirdness. I don't think they'll be able to recapture the magic of Wolf ET. This will be their 3rd attempt at that.

I think the important part of that statement is

Wolfenstein Enemy Territory was slated as a free release, made by community mod makers (who became Splash Damage). If they can design a game with the mindset they had during W:ET, without the influence of ID or publishers, then this new game just might be great.

We need a non-deathmatch shooter; a team play shooter that does not degenerate into deathmatch (BF3)...hopefully they deliver.
