This wheel has been discontinued, probably not the best situation as far as support goes. Dirt Rally can have wheel issues, I would check directly with Codemasters to be sure it will work with Dirt Rally and the upcoming Dirt 4, at least post a question on the Dirt Rally forums. I'd like a wheel and pedals, but don't have the room for a full on racing cockpit, so I tried the Microsoft Wireless Wheel. A short review; it sucks. Kind of turned me off to the accelerometer based wheels.

I do just fine with a gamepad. The Dirt games dont seem to require super precise control systems.
Gran Tursimo and Forza Motorsports are a little more demanding.

Playing Dirt Rally with a free floating controller would drive me nuts. The games requires very quick reactions, which are hard to do with a wheel that is not mounted to anything.

Dirt Rally is way more demanding that any Forza/GT game I have played. It is nothing like Dirt 1-3.

I race with a 360-controller.
My friends race with full wheel/pedal setups.

I'm not slower.

They claim I'd be faster with wheel setup.

I'm not convinced.

I love Dirt Rally.

Yeah, I use an XBox One controller (upgraded from a 360 controller). I will say the XBO controller is a huge improvement over the 360 controller I used to have. it is a lot more precise.
