My temp rose to 47 last week, it 's winter, I do have a ring OC set up with a lot of fans plus the YTech 41cfm on my Sk6, so something was wrong, I open the case and got a LOT of dirt blocking between the fins in the SK6, I cleaned it with a brush and air can. I turn on the ring the temp was in 39C... Wow

Same problem. I live in Suffolk Va. (South Eastern Va.) and it's very dusty around here. I find myself having to clean may SK6 at least once a month. I usually pull the fan and use some compressed air to blow out the lint/dust. I've tried using filters on the intake case fans but it just cuts the airflow through the case to much so I'll just keep cleaning my SK6 monthly.

I kno what you're talking about. A few months ago I did some major renovation on my room; took down a chimney that was passing through it and cut some holes in the wall and ceiling, and there is still plaster dust coating everything. I have to blow out my computer ever week it seems. And I have air filters too! They get disgusting after just a few days.

I cleaned my sk-6 a few days ago and my temps dropped from 43° to 38°. There was a layer of dust on top of the heatsink that was thick enough to peel off.

dirt is the enemy in any computer.............a monthly cleanup always helps to reduce temperatures

Just saw this thread and i jogged me that it was time for a good cleaning on my rig. Pulled the side panels and the front bezel off my sx1040 and cleaned my front furnace filter materiel. It was pretty dirty. With 3 intakes i have enough airflow to give up some for filters. Cleaned the filter in my side panel fan as usual it was pretty dirty as well. Never thought to pull the fan off my sk6 before. What a mess i found under there. cleaned it out with a toothbrush and my vacuum cleaner. Put everything back together and my idle cpu temp dropped from 45-47 to a steady 38c.:D
