Dirt cheap 2.1 speakers

Ive owned the Megaworks and Altec Lansing 880 in the past and thought they were pretty good, nice strong bass and was wondering what would be a similar 2.1 version of either of those two setups. I already have a Parasound setup that I mainly use and Im trying to spend as little as possible for pc speakers (using headphones atm). All I want is sound to come out from my pc and maybe a little "boom" once in a while when I watch a dvd on pc. How are the Logitech Z-3s (good price)? Would like to stay around $50 range. Hoping you guys mightve found some deals that you can share 🙂
 
Have you looked in the Hot Deals forum? The Z-3 is <$10 after rebate! I'm sure they'll sound sweet at that price.
 
The 2.1 version of the MegaWorks 550 THX is the MegaWorks 210D. I think you can buy them only at www.hifi.com (Cambridge SoundWorks' website) The Z-3s for less than $10 is a great deal, though.
 
Look for RMS in wattage, that will give you a better idea of a quality company. Because so many try to confuse us with the PIMPO which stands for something like Peak Intensity Maximum Power Output or something like that. Those numbers can go into the thousands just to make us think were getting something were not. Also look for a good wide frequency response. Especially on the low end if you want those deep bass sounds. Something that is in the 30hz range will be good. If you can find it in the 20hz range you will get the tactile effect that really makes you feel the games and sound. Especially if coupled with a good amp that puts out 30watts RMS or More.
 
i have the wood grain z3's and love them, got them cheap, and they are quality made speakers. good construction and good sound.
