DIRT and the MS Wheel ....

I am hoping some of you driving experts can help me here. I am trying to use the MS wheel with DIRT and the game is virtually unplayable.

The slightest mm of movement of the wheel turns the truck way too far. I know it's not my wheel as it works perfectly in PGR3, PGR4, and Forza 2.

Are there any adjustments or ways to make this work better with the game??

There was something about adjusting settings using Forza helped. Or that's supposedly what I heard about the demo. I remember trying the wheel in the DiRT demo and it was pretty much impossible to use (so I never used it).

Doing a quick google search reveals a lot of complaints about using the MS Wheel with DiRT. You're supposed to be able to make adjustments in the game for the wheel. This post over at the Codemasters forum says that they found it good with:

My setting s are Steering Dead Zone = 6%
Steering Saturation is 100%

The rest are defaults.

There's also another post that says:

I use the Microsoft Wireless Wheel. With the set defaults, the game actually sucks while using the wheel, due to oversteering. My setup involves the following:

1) set the wheel saturation to 100%
2) before each race, go to car set-up and turn up TOE-IN on BOTH front and rear wheels to the max (slide them to the right). I find the difference like night and day. However, I am not so sure if it affects overall speed, but I have been blasting through the career mode in both Amateur and Pro-Am and placing 1st (90% of the time). On CORR races, good luck with ANY setting - that race series is really hard!!!
Good luck!

Any idea where I can adjust the wheel settings in the game??

I know where to do this for Forza 2 but have yet to see any place in DIRT to do this.

Thanks Queasy guess I'll have to stay clear of ya now on Wednesdays since ya helped old blowfish out LOL!

I assume in the options some where. I haven't played DiRT since the demo first came out so I really couldn't tell you. :(

The wheel is hard to use in arcade games like DiRT and even PGR. I found the controller much more enjoyable in these games.
