Ok;
So I picked up Dirt 3 during the Steam sale last week and was looking forward to playing it. I loved both Dirt 1 and 2, and from everything I heard Dirt 3 was even better. From the hour or so I have played so far I would say the game does not disappoint, but... What is with this "live marketplace" advertizing all over the game? Every second event I highlight is "please purchase this event from the live marketplace," and same goes for the cars. You even get advertizements for this stuff before you are even loaded into the main menu. "Hey new DLC available, please buy our car pack for $10!" How about no! If they want to make this stuff available in an attempt to nickle and dime the customer to death than fine, but the fact that it is so obtrusive is just unacceptable.
I mean I did buy a full game, did I not? Right now it feels like I am playing some glorified demo, since they basically shove into your face the fact that half the content is missing. Like most people I didn't care much for GFWL to begin with, but was willing to live with it as long as it sat in the background and didn't bother me. If they are going to start shoving crap like this into every game they will not be getting my business any more (and that's pretty bad... I mean I even put up with Ubi's always on DRM without complaining).
