I was a fan of the first, and love Grid as well.

A quote from the site
To be powered by the third generation of the EGO? Engine?s award-winning racing game technology, DiRT 2 will benefit from tuned-up car-handling physics system and new damage engine effects. It will also showcase a spectacular new level of visual fidelity, with cars and tracks twice as detailed as those seen in GRID.

Twice as detailed as Grid,.. sounds nice!

Grid was probably my second favorite racer of all time, right behind NFS:3.

They need a better physics system. They've had the same crappy physics system since CMR2...It kills the game for me. Gameplay is great with the first DiRT and has an excellent concept but if they actually got Forza style physics on it, I would much appreciate it.

Hmm, Dirt probably had just about the right mix of arcade and simlike racing. Mistakes would be punished severly, but it wasn't flat out inpossible to race a flawless race. Racing games are few and far between anyways, so I can't wait.

If DiRT2 has all of the time trials and speed runs as the first - I'm out. I got tired of "racing" by myself for the majority of the single player in the first game.

I like Dirt and Grid so I'll keep an eye out for this especially since rally games are not exactly abundant. I do hope it won't have that damn piss filter that Codemasters seem to love but modders were able to get rid of them in both Dirt and Grid with a simple fix.

What are you referring to by "piss filter?"

/agree
It has changed alot since CMR2 I would say its identical to the CMR4 more than CMR2.... but to be honest it is easy to get used to as long as you arent crashing

I really liked the CMR series and Grid, but never really got into Dirt. Hopefully Dirt 2 is good.

What kind of controller do you use with this type of game on the pc? I have never actually played a racing game on the pc and I have Pure coming in the mail. I'm thinking of trying some more racers but don't have any idea what the best control scheme is. I'm mainly RTS and FPS so it's always been keyboard and mouse for me.

Thanks

I use a Logitec MOMO wheel for my car racing games. As for Pure, I would almost lean more towards a 360 controller for myself, but thats because I used to play a lot of console games and used to the feel of that kind of controller.

And not to mention, using a steering wheel for an ATV would be blasphamy!!! :)
