DirectX9 in Vista 64 bit?

Hi,

I'm curious about what you guys are running out there on your windows vista systems. I've seen the benchmarks out there, and it seems that there is little reason to run DirectX10 when you could have the best performance with 9.

Any comments or information are appreciated.

Corey.

The only DX10 games I play are Company of Heroes and BioShock, and I play them in DX10 mode.

In CoH the performance hit is noticeable. However, the game does look so much better (lighting, particles, textures) that I think it's worth it. And the game is still pretty playable.

In BioShock, the difference is quite subtle. Basically DX10 just smooths out shadows and creates better particles. But then again I get excellent perfomance in DX10 so I see no reason not to run it.

I imagine that once the next generation cards are released, DX10 will be much more viable too.
