DirectX7 in windows ME?

Nah, Windows ME uses a version of Directx 7. I think it's something like Directx 7.1, as M$ had to change 7.0a a little bit to get it to work properly. This version is specific to WinMe as it was never meant to be used on any other M$ operating sys. Really though, you should get Directx 8 as it will improve performance a bit.

Btw, to find out what version you are running, go to start menu, then run, and type dxdiag

Yep 7.1 it is. I could not find it before I typed dxdiag in at the RUN.


do you guys really reccomend DX8? I heard bad things about it.
