I'm looking for something that is basically just an overlay of a crosshair that will be DirectX enabled. I know this is not illegal because its the same thing that ATI Tool uses for its overlays (such as FPS and Temp) and the same thing Xfire uses for its ingame chat. I want this for BF2 because the Iron Sights on most of the guns are misplaced, and some guns extremely misplaced (such as the MEC pistol, the MR-444, it shoots like an inch above where the sights are). I'm not looking for hacks, just a simple DirectX overlay.

You cannot ask for or post about anything illegal on our forums.

Technically, this would be a hack and cheating. It will also get you banned from servers by way of Punkbuster. Things like this are a no-no. Do not ever ask for something like this again.

Drawing a dot doesn't work on a CRT cause of the glass pane in front of it. You move like a half of an inch in your seat and the dot is in the wrong place lol. And it would NOT be a hack because its simple a DirectX overlay. Its not a hack to add something in the corner of your screen that tells you your FPS or your GPU Temperature is it? Its the same exact thing, except one is text telling you information about your computer and the other is just a dot in the middle of your screen. Its not like you are adding something thats game specific like nametags or something, or removing something like a wallhack. Its adding something on your screen, I think anyone has the right to do that if they want. If someone wants to have a picture of something in the right hand corner of their screen, or in the middle of it, or whereever, I think they have the right to do that. Sorry, not hacking. :)

And the other is helping you aim, giving an advantage to you others do not have.

As is drawing a dot in the middle of your monitor, as is having skill, as is doing alot of things many gamers do. Giving yourself an advatange isn't against any rules unless it defies game mechanics... which this does not do. I believe people have the right to add crap to their screen if they want. Physical modifications to your computer aren't illegal, and adding something virtual to your computer thats always there isn't illegal either. Its not modifying the game in any way, nor is it even specific to any game.

It does defy game mechanics. EVERYONE is given the same guns, and EVERYONE has to deal with how difficult or easy it is to aim. Going around this to take away this disadvantage is cheating by any[/i] definition. You will get banned by any PB admin. PB takes screenshots from your video memory which means they will see the crosshair, and they will ban you. Being a punksbusted admin I can tell you without a doubt that every admin will call you a cheater. This is considered a cheat by any server admin, punkbuster dev, and any league, not to mention most clans. If you don't believe me, you are free to ask this in the punksbusted forum. I can guarantee you will be banned in seconds.
