DirectX.. Do I need install more than v8?

May sound like a silly question, but I'm installing 98se to a new drive, and wonder if I need the versions previous to Dx8 installed as well, or is v8 an update that includes all I will need?

directX8 should work with all progrems designed for previous versions.
Not guareteeing it though.

You only need one DirectX installer and it includes code to stay compatible with older versions. Thus if you have the DirectX 8.1 installer all games running requiring DirectX 8.1 or lower should work.
