directx 9 release date

does anyone know when directx 9 is going to be released to pulic? I thought it was going to be in december, but obviously I was mistaken. Has it gone gold yet?

Its already out. Been out for a couple weeks. Go to microsoft's website

Its out, but I'd wait for at least 1 update (DX 9.0a???) or wait until your other proggies and hardware makers have time to put out some DX 9 compatible drivers. DX9 has been giving me weird problems with devices using video overlay and direct sound.

Since I have a Radeon 9700 I downloaded it yesterday and have not run into any problems yet....key word being yet .
