DirectX 9.0c & FEB Update

I recently had to completely reformat, and of course re-install and re-configure everything, as usual.

There is one thing that bugs me right now though ...

See, after installing Service Pack 2 (which includes a version of DirectX 9.0c) I immediately (well, after a reboot) installed the FEB Update for DirectX 9.0c from Microsoft. That's cool.

But after that, I re-installed a bunch of games.

One of those games was Battlefield 2.

After the game itself installed, I still had to install DirectX 9.0c, or the installation process would stop and the game wouldn't completely install. So I told myself "all right ... but after that I'll just re-install, again, the FEB Update for DirectX 9.0c".

So, I let the BF 2's DX 9.0c install, and then I reboot.

Now ... here's the problem (well I don't know if that will cause any problems, but it isn't supposed to happen like that I'm pretty certain) ...

I tried to re-install, for a second time, the FEB Update, BUT ... the installer now tells me that all my DX 9.0c files are either up-to-date or equivalent of the latest DX 9.0c version.

Now that's wrong.

I mean ... Battlefield 2 wasn't released this month ...

How could the DX 9.0c version included in the BF 2 original CD/DVD be up-to-date when we all know Microsoft just released an updated version this month ?!

Is there anything I could do ?

What's the version number of DX 9.0c in DXDIAG after the FEB Update ? Mine shows: 4.09.0000.0904

Is it up-to-date or should I completely un-install DirectX and re-install it with the FEB Update ?

Thanks for time and help.
