Also patches up a dangerous security hole in all dx versions.

though if MS details what that was they're breaking the law

Details.

Geez, security holes in DirectX even? Stuff's getting so complex...watch, the version of Solitaire that'll ship with Longhorn will contain a security bug that will allow a hacker to run programs on your computer.

Has directx.cpl been updated in the SDK also (higher than 5.3.0.900?), and if so does anyone have it to share?

shoudl i get 9.0b if im still using 8.1 on w2k?? i mean too bad i can't create restore points like xp

If you have a DX9 video card or need DX9 to run a game, then it's worth it. If not, keep 8.1. Peace.

I DLed it last night, and havnt seen any problems thus far.
I have noticed that C&C Generals occasionally stutters with more than one opponent, but i think it did that anyway on my system, except with the Cat3.1.

I don't know if its directly related, but my WMP needed to be updated just to open (something about expecting a higher version of a .dll file or some such message).

Anyone else get this or was this from something else I have done lately.
