I'm running WinXP Pro with DirectX 9.0. If anyone here know does Leadtek WinFast TV2000 XP Deluxe works with it? And I can't play Max Payne any more, the game just keep crashing to desktop. Anyone know what happens or how to fix?
My Specs:
AMD Athlon XP 2600+
Asus A7N8X Deluxe Rev. 1001.G
256MB Kingston PC2700 DDR SDRAM x2
80GB Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 9 ATA133, 8MB cache
Hercules 3D Prophet 9700 Pro
Asus DVD-E616
Windows XP Professional SP1 + DirectX 9.0

Actually the DX 9 UNinstaller is "dangerous" - you are likely to need an O/S install afterwards, anyway.

Before you take that step, make SURE all of your hardware drivers, every patch and application is upgraded to the latest (then reinstall your O/S). 😉

The crashing of Max Payne has nothing to do with directx 9 (even if it is, the following works).

Download the 1.05 (or something latest) patch for max payne and it works fine
