DirectX 8 expired

I have been running DX8 .146 without problems for some time now. However today I started getting a nag screen saying that my Direct Draw has expired and that I need to upgrade.
Is there any way of getting rid of this message that occours everytime I start up a game or play a movie etc.? I have found a few links to Release Candidate 1, but they are broken. The last option I want to use is the DX Uninstaller, as I know it can be quite a hassle.

tunr back you clock a year to get rid of your problem temporaraly. find a remove directx program then read instructions ,very complicated
