Hi all,

I'm running Win2000 as my main operating system, and was wondering if it would be worth it to upgrade to Directx 8.0a for gaming purposes? Is it better or worse? Last time I upgraded from 7.0a to 8.0, and it ended up screwing up my mahcine.. so I don't know if 8.0a would do the same. Anyone care to give some tips? Thanks

well.. if you have an ATI card then 8.0 is needed for the newest drivers... else... no clue on game performance.. really it wouldn't hurt
 
Some early detonator drivers such as 7.17 caused all sorts of problems with DX8. It depends I suppose what Drivers u r using now.
