DirecTV reciever question

I just got a universal remote but it wont work with the directv reciever I have. If I contacted directv would they swap out a reciever that would work?

Just got the remote today, reciever is less than a year old, but its a samsung so according to what i have read, samsun is an "off brand" for dtv receivers.
 
probably...you might have to spend a couple bucks to get a better universal remote...I got a learning remote that will do anything...it just "learns" the signal from your old remote

Ya, my remote does that too, but the manual says that it should still have the correct code....and i tried doing the learning thing and it didnt work
