DirecTV receiver or not?

Think I already know the answer to this one, but I am just double checking.

My answer to this question: YES I NEED ONE REGARDLESS

I want to put TV into my shop, but will also be putting a PC down there for browsing the net, pulling up my plans, drawings, etc, watching the occasional POD Casting.

Now, I am guessing I need a receiver from DirecTV to get TV down there. I can't just throw a Happauge card or something in the computer.

Is my understanding correct? Anyone have any better ideas?

PS: Not that it really matters in the shop. But I do have HD DirecTV if that makes some setup better than others.

You will need a Direct TV receiver to decode the signal then a tv card for the PC as well, or just a TV.

If you have an HD DVR, then you can watch those recorded programs on your PC with a program from DirecTV.
