DirecTV on a Star Choice dish.

I have an extra Star Choice dish and a direcTV reciever. Could I hook up the reciever to that dish and point the dish the right way to get DirecTV? Or do I absolutly need a DirecTV dish?

It will work if you get directv LNBs. You can buy them at any walmart.

If you have a DirecTV card in your receiver, then it should work. I know that we have RCA DirecTV receivers and dish, but they'll work for Dish if we ever wanted to switch.

all the dish does is collect signals... your receiver decodes them.

the lnbs are not signal specific...
