Circuit city has it for $499 - $100 rebate = $399.
Best buy offers it for $399. Do a PM with BB (-$110), the final price is around $289 + tax.
Not bad...

Update the title, if the IRD you are mentioning a Hughes HIRD-E86 then it Does receive over-the-air HDTV signals.
I myself have one and works fine with all dss HDTV and all local HDTV channels using an UHF antenna.

HDTV off-air are all located in the UHF band.. For better performance, get a hi-gain UHF antenna. Do not get a conventional VHF/UHF one. Reason for that is that it can cause interference every now and then.

I was able to find a good UHF antenna locally for $20.00 and brings in all my local HDTV signals available in the Los Angeles area.

FYI: All DirecTv receivers with HDTV built-in " DO " get off-air HDTV signals

Nice IRD, it even has a UHF remote. I picked up one of these NIB for $250, sold it for $450. I like those deals.

I can't seem to find any info on this deal... The wesite shows $535 before rebate and the Circuit City ad that I have doesn't show it.

Will Best Buy even pricematch a MIR?

I have this receiver and unless you are VERY local to the signals(for local HDTV channels), I would highly recommend a different unit, this thing glitches with 70+ signals where as my other receivers lock on perfectly, just a warning.

Buy it on line for $534 or at BM place for $499.
Pick it up at a local store and have the rep calling the local Best buy for a price matching.
The rebate via CC can be viewed on line.
Good luck!

Ordered mine online at Circuit City for $539 plus a Terk TV44 OTA antenna made for satellite dishes and did Express Pickup at the local CC. Got there and had the BestBuy.com price printed out and the phone number to the closest BB store in hand ... Guy looked it over 4 or 5 times not believing that the CC price could be $139 more than the BB price, but in the end he adjusted the price (he didn't call because he said the BB had caller ID and wouldn't pickup the phone ... haha)! Price before rebate: $385 after 110% PM. Price after $100 rebate, $285 + sales tax! Not a bad deal at all!

So far I've got the Terk TV44 antenna taped to my window, and I'm able to receive a few OTA HD channels, I figure once its up on the dish then it should be able to receive even more stations and receive them more reliably. I did read that this Hughes receiver runs very warm, and that active cooling by using a fan on top of the unit is recommended. A few users on avsforum.com noted that the active cooling helped them improve their OTA reception versus having no cooling at all.

HDTV off-air are all located in the UHF band..
Most of them. There are a few stations using channels like 12. I think they're all supposed to move to VHF once the analog broadcasts cease?
