DirecTV -> AIW 9700 Pro

I've got both cable and DirecTV satellite. Hooking cable up to my All-In-Wonder 9700 Pro was no problem, easily watch and record TV shows on my PC. But now I'm wondering if there's a way to hook DirecTV up to my PC so I can record from there. I'm guessing that there's no way, as the AIW card would have to function as a satellite receiver instead of a TV tuner... anyone experiment with this?

thats how to do it. The rcvr for dtv needs to rcv the signal and your access card opens the channels...then you have to output it to the pc instead of a tv.

Yeah, the receiver has dual outputs, the S-Video out is into my TV, and then there's a second coax output that I can pipe to my computer. Then when I turn to channel 3 on the AIW card I see whatever the satellite receiver is tuned to. Sounds as though this is the best I'm going to be able to do.

definetely..u cant change channels on the tuner card cuz the rcvr has the access card and rcvs the satellite signal. u have to change the channel on the rcvr

check out dtvcon Unfortunately, my receiver doesn't have a serial port, as apparently some do, and I haven't had a chance to attempt to use the telephone jack to wire this up. good luck
