Is it possible to hook up an s-video cable from a DirecTiVo to a video card in order to capture shows from the TiVo unit to my hard drive? I am trying to decide how to set up our living room (either a HTPC or DirecTiVo) and if I cant get the shows off the TiVo and on to my computer then I might not be as inclined to get one.

My DirecTivo has an option to send recorded show to VCR.

All it does is output the shows, so I wouldn't see a problem hooking it up to your comp and recording vs. hooking up to a vcr.

Disclaimer: I have never used this feature myself, but I know it's there.

Awesome, thanks for the reply. I was hoping I could archive the shows on my computer without having to hack the TiVo itself.

The only thing the record to vcr feature does is give you 10 seconds to get the vcr going before the tivo starts playing the show you're transferring.

I actually picked up an All In Wonder 9600 a week ago to do this same exact thing. I'm playing around with getting stuff from a VHS tape to digitize before doing the Tivo transfer.
