Hi,

any ideas on whether a Direct x10 version of an AGP card will ever be available?

And, will it really be necessary to have a directx10 graphics card to run Window's Vista. I currently only a have a 9600 pro and the according to the Vista precheck, there are no problems using this card. If this is the case, why all the hype about directx10 and corresponding cards?

thanks,

John

Well, you don't NEED a DX10 card for Vista. DX10 is just the way of the future and ppl are wanting to prepare for it. Like the whole PCI-Express thing. Your 9600 pro should be fine to run vista. What's dumb is that you need a 5700LE or higer just to run Vista. And I don't think there'll be a DX10 AGP card as the newer formats (AM2, whatever 2 formats C2D uses, and next year AM3) no longer use AGP. So you'll have to make the jump to PCI-E.
