Direct X woes

How the hell does one remove Direct x 7.0a and 8? I installed these versions on two systems and they f things up. I want to go back to 7.0 but the system tells me a newer version exists and wont let me install. Short of reinstalling 98se is there an easier way. Thanks in advance.

You're in deep trouble. There is one chance this may work but it is pretty drastic and you may need to reinstall Windows anyway.

It is a DirectX uninstaller. Just make sure you back up your files before proceeding and read the directions carefully. Good luck.
