Hey guys,

Recently I have installed new nvidia drivers 270.61 for my gtx 570. Previously i have used 266.58 After an upgrade my fps dropped down. So, I decided to install 266.58 drivers back. After i did it, I opened crysis 2 and it said that there was a problem with initializing direct X9. So, what you think guys.

Thanks

Did you uninstall the 270.61 drivers before you reinstalled the 266.58 drivers?

Yes, I uninstantiated it. There were 2 possibilities when I had to install old driver: express and custom. I chose express. Maybe i should go with custom. But i am not sure.

Yes, I think you want to go with custom and choose the "Clean Install" option which should clear out any previous drivers.

I am super anal about this and I clean out my C : \ nVidia folder of all display drivers before I do the uninstall and then I do a reboot with no drivers followed by another reboot before installing the new drivers.

Can you run any other DirectX program like Google Earth without difficulty? How about any 3d program that may use OpenGL like Google Earth?

Try upgrading to the just released 275.33 WHQL and then get back to us.
