I have a pentium3 700 at 933 and hercules gts 64meg abit mobo etc
Anyway, my computer works great with dx7 and any multitude of drivers...if i upgrade to dx8.. open gl apps work fine but anything direct 3d and I get weird flashing horizontal lines accross the screen that look like weird extensions of textures or something.. I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling dx7 and dx8 a bunch of times... wierd thing is.. sometimes i can get dx8 loaded and i wont have the problem.. but if i try to change drivers NO MATTER what drivers they are.. it comes back.. but if i completely clean out dx8 and go back to dx7 it goes away....The way this problem is acting I am almost wondering if a reformat would even work... it almost seems like just some kind of hardware incompatibility but i could be wrong...I guess i'll try the new dx8 beta when i get home... Reformatting is my last option cuz that is inconvenient as hell
